The German finance minister, Wolfgang Schäuble warned of difficulties ahead, considering that this year is “certainly more difficult” than the past year.
“2012 will certainly be more difficult than 2011,” said the head to the newspaper “Bild”, quoted by ”El Mundo”. At issue is the debt crisis that has developed in Europe and the weakening economy. The official stressed that it is “time to stabilize the euro area” and that “many countries need to do their homework.”
Schäuble assured that the German economy is ready to face the difficulties of this new year, due to preventive measures that wereimplemented by the government led by Angela Merkel.
“I hope that at the end of the year, and unless something unforeseen happens, we find ourselves in a situation wherecitizens can look with confidence the next year,” he added.
